Deprogrammer Update.

Well, my "bite" has shifted quite a bit since I've gotten the deprogrammer.  It doesn't allow me to posture my chin at all, but puts my jaw in its natural postion, so it's very easy to see the asymmetry and deformity. Thank goodness I can get this fixed!  I've taken some pictures of how my profile changes as well, but I'll post those later.  Here are pictures with the deprogrammer in:

* I apologize for how I look--I had a bad headache when I took these... *

Here is my bite with the splint--I can only bite with my anterior teeth, something I have never experienced!

Here is my real bite, right after I took the splint out:

Here is my smile without the splint.  Seems I can't smile without sticking my tongue through the gap...

  4. I agree with Nikki, you must be so patient to wear the splint all the time! It will all be worth it in the end though!

  5. HI Ellie! Your before pics are what I feel like now post-op! Ha ha! I think you are going to really like your outcome and it will be way more comfortable. I know how uncomfy I feel being unaligned. Keep pushing through! Success is right around the corner! :-)

  6. Thank you all for the support! I really appreciate it...

    @ Nikki - the splint itself does not cause any pain to my teeth (it's like a bite guard that's worn at night), but the metal hooks are causing serious pain to my cheeks and the movement of my jaw joints has caused some pain and discomfort.

    @ Tina --thank you! Good to have you around again!
