MRI.

Almost two years ago, when I began this journey, I had an MRI done.  It showed that both my articular discs are dislocated, and it also showed the deterioration and hypoplasia of my left condyle.  You can also clearly see the asymmetry of my mandible in some of the images.  The condition of my left TMJ is a going concern of my OS and of mine too, as my bite will always have some "give," even after the surgery.  I am not very comfortable with that, but the surgery needs to be done to prevent further deterioration.

Here are the two condyles.  You can see that the one on the right has a ball shape, which is normal.  The one on the left is flat--that is not normal.

This view is looking down from the top of my head.  The bumpy thing at the top is actually my jaw and chin.  It took me *forever* to figure that out.  Once I did, I was really distressed at how asymmetrical my jaw really is.
