To be honest, I have never really noticed or have been bothered by my profile before. I only started examining it after I learned it was affected by my jaw, and since I am obsessed over my jaw, I am looking at my profile... I still don't think it is all that horrible. I do have a chin. I think my profile looks funny from the side mostly when I smile big or laugh, but that is mostly because of how my teeth stick out funny, not because of my profile. Anyway, here are some shots. My left side is the more wonky side because that's where the joint damage is. It also looks a little swollen to me, and I do have more pain in my face on that side. I do have to "posture" my chin to make my lips close normally, so that is the third photo.
Right profile, lips relaxed. Right profile, lips closed.
Right profile, "postured."
Left profile, lips relaxed. Left profile, trying to close lips. Left profile, "postured."
I think your profilelooks great too. It is amazing how much we posture to account for the jaw discrepency though. My OS had to keep retaking my xrays and pics cuz I kept 'posturing forward'. I think your profile will end up similar to ur posturing forward pics. I too did not have a prob with my profile as I had a strong chin...but I do like my new profile better...more feminine. :)
ReplyDeleteHey, how have you been doing with/without a mouth guard at night? Did u try out the one I've been using?
I have been trying the night guard you recommended! It falls out a lot, but it's definitely helping. Thanks for the tip! :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome, glad to hear! I can start using mine again in 2 weeks. I cannot wait!!!!!!
